Eristoff - "From the land of the wolf"

Fictional project – Supervised by Thomas de Crombrugghe

Overview

In my final year of Bachelor Degree at the College of Arts and Design in Brussels, as part of our Motion Design course, we were assigned a project to create a short film that would represent an internationally recognized brand. For my project, I decided to focus on Eristoff, a widely recognized global vodka brand.

From the land of the wolf

I chose to center my video around the brand’s tagline, “From the land of the wolf.” This tagline evokes a sense of mystery, power, and ruggedness that I wanted to convey in my video. I wanted to capture the essence of the brand’s heritage and culture, which is rooted in the rugged and remote terrain of Georgia, where the brand originated.

Approach and Methodology

For this project, I took a methodical approach to create a visually striking video that would represent the Eristoff brand. I brainstormed story ideas, created a storyboard, designed illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, and used frame-by-frame animation to bring the wolf to life. Finally, I utilized Adobe After Effects to create a compelling visual representation of the brand. My methodology involved a combination of planning, design, and animation techniques that resulted in a memorable video representing the brand’s rugged and mysterious nature.

Making use of sound design

In this video, I made a deliberate choice to exclude music and instead focused on creating a soundscape that would complement the striking visual elements. I used sound design techniques to create a realistic and immersive environment, such as the sounds of wolves howling, wind blowing, and forest ambience. The forest sounds added a sense of tranquility and raw wilderness to the video, emphasizing the brand’s connection to the rugged and remote terrain of Georgia.

By utilizing sound design techniques, I was able to create a captivating and immersive experience for the viewer, one that brought the natural environment to life in a way that music alone couldn’t achieve.

Great job !
